Teal Drones and Thingiverse have laid down a challenge to create remixes of Teal Sport drone. The Teal Drone Remix Challenge is open until 11:59 PM EST on the 20th November 2017.
As it is put on the Thingiverse competition page:
The goal of this contest is to inspire the 3D printing community to modify the Teal Sport™ drones’s top cover aesthetics and utility.
Teal Drones has also uploaded some files to help you get the dimensions for your designs right. As you don’t want your design to get in the way of the props.
To enter the competition all you need to do is design your own top plate for the Teal Sport. Then upload it to Thingiverse with hashtag #TealDroneChallenge.
Having played around with 3D printers before. And also an excuse to start to learn a new Computer Aided Design programme. (I’m thinking SketchUp.) Also, I’d like to see what other people come up with.
Although, it’s not the first I have seen to look at harnessing 3D printing to customise your drones. The Micro Drone 3.0 who during their Idiegogo campaign offered frame designs to some of their first backers.
There are three prizes up for grabs. The top prize is a package containing the Teal Sport FPV drone. Which is apparently able to fly faster than 80mph out of the box.
